Did it have roots when you planted it into the soil? How often are you watering? And does it get actual sunlight?

@JenobiBLU there was definitely a single root, I don’t remember very clearly since it’s was a few weeks ago… I water ~every two weeks, and it is against a southern facing window if that’s what you mean by actual sunlight. I appreciate the reply!

@JenobiBLU does this look like aloe Vera to you? It could also be oxtail. Every Plant ID app I’ve used has a very hard time identifying this.. it’s like they just choose a random plant as its ID each time I try lol
Are you sure that is aloe Vera? If so, that soil looks pretty dense. I would go with a more rocky/sandy soil, or pon. Something with a lot more drainage. Also use a moisture meter to determine watering needs rather than a schedule.

@phytologyfan ya I mean that’s why I said β€œwhat I think is aloe Vera” and ya ok I will switch it for my high drainage soil. I think it could also be oxtail but not sure
I definitely think that isn’t aloe Vera but it could be a subspecies of aloe, aloe Vera’s spikes are usually spread out a lot more and are more prominent. This plant seems to have less prominent spikes and they are a lot closer together. I would recommend looking up different types of aloe to see if you can find a match.
I don't think that's aloe vera, it doesn't look quite right
