Couple things.
First looks like we got the ID on this wrong. It's actually a Fairy Castle Cactus.
Second you should be able to just cut a piece off or gently break a piece of and put it on the soil. It should start to grow.

I agree with Drew (it's late so I'm not tagging him). I have recently propagate some of my cactus and I left them to dry a little for the day and then put them in the soil.
Just be careful to not overwater while the cutting is rooting. (:
