I’m no expert but as my snake plant grew more and more, those sections didn’t bother me as much. Idk if we should prune them to help the snake plant or snip that section off either, but she seems to be doing okay. These are 5 months apart

Wow! She looks happy. If those damaged areas bother you, trim them off.
