Dying from roots up

Question

Not sure what is happening but this potentially misidentified fairy-tale cactus doesn't look so hot-- any ideas?

If its indeed a fairy tale cactus, it looks as tho its stretching itself out to reach the sun, which possibly means its not getting enough sunlight. If ur cactus is mushy n turning yellow brown, which looks here it could be overwatered.

How long have you had it?
Have you repotted it since getting it? (New pot,/new soil)
How many times have you watered it? If its dying from the roots up, then 9 out of 10 times it's from over watering and has root rot. But I need a little more info before we jump straight down that rabbit hole.

Your best bet is Try to take it out of the pot. Clean the soil off, let it dry up and put into new soil thats proper for it. And put into a terracotta pot, don't water it.

The webs on it tell me I would treat for spider mites they are probably eating it alive
