How much water should I use when watering?

3ft to light, indirect

2” pot with drainage

Last watered 1 year ago
When you water you should use enough water to saturate all the substrate, and then make sure any excess water is drained out of the pot. Overwatering isn’t really about the amount of water, more like the frequency of sitting in overly damp soil.
Something like this cactus I would tend to soak via bottom watering since there isn’t much way to pour it on top.

Like they mentioned. When you do water you should water fully. I give them lots of water when it’s time. I water from above and also soak and water from the bottom to completely soak the soil. But after the soil shouldn’t stay wet for too long or it will rot. Needs to have quick drying soil that drains fast. Usually in 3 days or less is best. In nature when it rains in the desert it floods and rains like crazy. But then they go very long periods without any water after. So main thing is don’t water too often. Maybe once every two weeks in summer more or less depending on the weather and during winter I only lightly water maybe once a month at most depending on how cold it is. If it’s freezing the soil should stay dry
@Alinaa thanks!
