New Golden Potho Owner!

Hi!! Im very new at this, but I saved this golden potho from the clearance section at walmart. Any tips or advice on how to keep him happy?? Also how does he look in your opinion? I felt like he was in good shape for being $4 ๐Ÿ˜‚ he does have alot of brown on his stem, not sure if that is normal or notโ€ฆ #GoldenPothos #NewPlantMom #NewPlants #adviceplease

@UndauntedBeans7 it actually looks healthy but I was just at walmart today and almost everything is marked down. I am guessing so they can get them out of there! They like bright indirect light, chunky well draining soil, and let the first couple inches dry out between watering. The brown is normal because the leaves grow out of the stems and the little thin sheathing they emerge from will die. Sometime they get these like tough "stretch marks" that turn brown and kind of woody and that's not a concern either! I think it looks like a nice happy little starter and they grow fast! If you get a pole for it to climb then the leaves will grow huge and eventually the leaves will start splitting which is insanely cool and can happen within a couple of years! If it's left to hang and creep then the leaves will remain around the same size they currently are!
@PleaseLeaf thank you for all the advice & im glad it looks good!!! I figured the same thing, there were soo many plants out and they all looked pretty fine to me. i planned to keep him outside hanging under the roof so he will be mostly out of the sun but still outdoors, hopefully that will work! I cant decide if i want to have them climb with a trellis or let them follow their own path. I think hanging vines look so whimsical so i may just have them hanginโ€™!
@UndauntedBeans7 having it both climb and vine is also an option which is what I did! I also love hanging plants a lot! I can't speak on growing outdoors since all my plants are strictly indoor plants but just watch for sunburnt leaves!
@PleaseLeaf that sounds even better! Im totally envisioning a head shaped pot and the vines going up and out & down so it looks like medusa & her snake hair! I will make sure to keep it in the shade too. Im constantly moving my potted sunflowers (& zinnias and marigolds) back and forth from direct sunlight to shade so ill have to remind myself that the pothos stays shaded ๐Ÿ˜‚
I was truly expecting a half dead pothos pic but Gomez looks great!! Wonderful find!
You would not believe how many people either give me a plant to save and keep or save if I can and give back or buy me a plant from a store that needs "saved/rescued" lol..... And honestly I really don't know what I do or how I do it but they are all well ... Alive ... And most thriving lol.... And honestly with all my plants I don't know how they do so well because I don't follow directions lmao but I more so just watch and observe them all to learn what they do or don't like
@13Stitches thank you!!!
