Greg watering advice

#EuropeanRedRaspberry

I wonder if Greg's weekly watering advice (every 7-8 days) should apply to starter plants? Example: cuttings, rootlets and bareroots.

I remember the process for cuttings I prepared which can be left for 2 weeks and the roots developed nicely. No additional watering needed.

Greg app is no doubt great for plants with functioning roots! It helped me improve watering for most plants, I'm just wondering about U know? Cuttings, bareroots and rootlets which are still not plants yet. Do I go for the home run? (2 weeks) Coz they all received a generous amount of water on planting day.

All my plants are in the growroom. They are not exposed to sun and the elements.

Hey Izzu πŸ‘‹ Gregs watering schedule, even for mature plants, is only a guide tbh. I always tell every new Gregger I speak to to check their soil moisture EVERY TIME before they water and just hit snooze as needed (so that Greg learns a more suitable schedule).

But I do agree! πŸ˜‚ I tend to do seedlings, cuttings and starters by eye regarding watering and don't even add mine to Greg until they've established (& only then if I don't decide to give them away! πŸ˜‚).

I would trust your instincts personally (& your "dip test"!.. Whether you use gadgetry, a chopstick or your finger! Lol 🀣) x
Heya~ thanks for the input! Greg is a super big help with rooted plants. But I'm a bit more hesitant with cuttings, bareroots and rootlets.

I watered about four smol pots and stopped lol
Guess I will delete my bareroots untill they cross the 2 week markm

How long can cuttings, rootlets last without water in a protected environment?
