What @MamixFuego said, but your question reminded me of something...always have a saucer beneath outdoor potted plants, because pests and diseases can make their way into the soil through the drainage holes πŸ˜‰ I found this out the hard way after caterpillars chomped their way through one of my aeoniums lol
Not always! But they can be if they are apart of an invasive species. Definitely look up β€œInvasive snails” to get an idea of which ones are invasive or if Florida has any invasive snails and which are not! Hope this helps πŸ₯°πŸ’•πŸͺ΄
For the snails you can put some table salt around your plants …. It will kill the snails…
Snails can strip a plant in a few days. The best way is to hand pick them off and then place saucers with beer in them. The snails crawl in and die happy.
Is the snail eating the plant? If so, snail is problem.
Agree if snails are eating your plant then it’s a problem. They don’t eat everything and the slime doesn’t bother most plants. And usually where there’s snails 🐌 there’s slugs. If it’s not bad I just pick them off and throw them down a hillside behind us. I can’t bring myself to kill them 🫣. I’m an ol softie πŸ₯Ή. In larger areas like in ground gardens if it’s bad though I will. I use Sluggo which isn’t harmful to pets and wildlife. But for container plants picking them off, saucers of beer or salt will help.
