The whole plant is highly toxic, and can be lethal to animal. Whether you should get rid of it depends on where you place the plants, if your pets going to eat them or not?

You can order some wire cloche plant covers from Amazon or elsewhere to make a barrier.

It's toxic, but will your kids/pets try to eat it? Yoy may be able to put it somewhere out of reach
