Possibly scale and other pests on Zebra Hawthoria (not my...
So, I was given this #Zebraplant by a friend because they wanted to give me a pup off of this plant, but they were unsure of the separation method and it was already quite late by the time they gave it to me.
Upon examining it with a flashlight, I found a rolly polly creeping in the soil, but I also saw these brown lumps in between leaves, which I assume to be scale. They don't move, and they don't seem to have caused any damage. I will spray insectidal soap on and try to scrape them off if anyone else agrees. I want to do what's best for the plant since I don't want to give back a disappointment ð.
I have never had this species of plant before, and neither have I ever dealt with scale before, so I'll need some tips! I really want to keep it in tip-top condition when I give it back.

According to my plant encyclopedia scale is classified as hard or soft scales or outer shells . It suggests rubbing of the scale with an old toothbrush or nail brush and then apply eco-oil. Wipe both sides of the leaves to smother any stragglers and remove any baby crawlers. From what I could see in your photo the dots resemble the photos of scale showing in the encyclopedia.
