Monstera help

Hi guys! Happy Friday (:
so i’ve had my monstera for a month and she’s been growing new leaves ( pic inserted ) but some of the older leaves are curled a little bit so im wondering what the case is. Has anyone else had this happen before? If so, Id love your tips and tricks thanks in advance!! #Monstera
I’m afraid that looks suspiciously like thrips damage to me, have you checked for an infestation? Their larvae are like tiny white rice, they leave silvery grey brown patches and puncture marks and little black dots of poo.
😨 oh my, I haven’t checked! If this is the case what is the best way to treat? is my monstera savable @FabMakura32 ?
Absolutely savable, as long as you act fast πŸ™‚ Personally, I go straight to systemic sprays - Provanto Ultimate is a good one in the UK. Others prefer organic methods like Neem oil or predatory bugs. I would treat every plant you own at the same time - I’ve heard of people missing one out of two-hundred which then went on to reinfect them all, all over again. When it’s happened to me I’ve squeezed them all into the bath, showered them all down thoroughly, applied a systemic insecticide very liberally, then put them in deep shade until they’re dry to avoid damaging the leaves. Prune any really damaged parts, but don’t overdo it. Monitor, wipe off every larvae or egg you spot, and repeat in two weeks.
