UPDATE! Does anyone else have a #MangoSeed ready to be p...

My #Mango seed has outgrown its plastic baggie! I shucked the seed and put it in a baggie in the window on August 4. Almost a month later, it's ready for its next adventure!! (It kinda looks like a whale!)

#SOBER 996 DAYS!!
Wow! That Mango seed is something amazing. Growing in a plastic bag. It has huge roots. Lol
Thanks, @Pegster! I hope I can do it justice and keep it growing!
I’m sure you can. The bag looks so yucky. Lol
I think it looks like it's Dino buddy there...🀣🀣 this is amazing!!🀩🀩
OMG THAT’S SO COOL 🀩
@Pegster DONE! I tossed the yucky paper towel. πŸ˜‰
@saatwood they are super simple to grow. The trick is to take the seed out of the husk.
@PlantEsteem there are seeds you can grow in paper towels taped to a window! Maybe you can use them at work!

A seed that grows along with someone. They can take that new journey together. 😊
@sarahsalith That is an excellent idea!!!... the window of my room faces the "smoke break" area so....bags on the window....that will get questions....so what bags seeds are these exactly and what do I do? @kscape ...got any #sciencewithgreg about this?? πŸ™πŸ₯°
@PlantEsteem unfortunately, the only experience I have with fruit trees is from when I was 10 and planted my own mango tree, but I just placed it in the soil and it died 🀣🀣
🀣🀣 green thumbs are not for all plants all the time. @kscape I think 10 year old you would be so proud of your now plants.. πŸ₯°
@PlantEsteem I KNOW 10-year-old @kscape would be AMAZED! πŸ’š
This is definitely on my list to try!
You potted yours so big! I was impatient and potted almost at the first sign of a root. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚ no stalk yet but it’s definitely alive! I have a competition between my 2 in different soil mixtures.
@tango yeh, I found out the hard way to let them grow a bit. It's such a fine line with growing and rotting with these.
@PlantMompy you should TOTALLY do it. It's easy enough to do with kids, too!
*hey Google: add mangos to my shopping list, please*
@PlantMompy YES! Always say "please" and "thank you" to the machines so when they take over, maybe they'll remember that we were nice. 🀣
I read that it helps our kids know we say "please" and "thank you" instead of teaching them to give orders 😬

Mine only listens 50% of the time because it doesn't always understand "please" πŸ₯΄ but at least the toddler has manners πŸ˜‚
@sarahsalith uh oh. πŸ˜…πŸ˜‚
So, granted I live in Florida… Lol But this is my method: Eat mango, save pit. Rinse it under water, removing as much flesh as possible. Leave in a bowl of water for 1-2 days. Stick it in soil. Keep soil moist. Wait… πŸ€—πŸŒ±πŸͺ΄ So far I’ve only had one not germinating…
@sarahsalith this too is on my list to try since I can’t grow a avocado tree.
@KikiGoldblatt man! These are SO much easier than avocados! πŸ˜‚οΏΌ
