Left em as they were in that 100% peat all@dried and shrunk from the pot . Then i just water from the bottom until the pot sinks sbout half way ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Strings usually rot tbh let that crap@soil help u ! Lil

#WhatTheSuccWednesday #SucculentSquad #CactusClique #PlantMail #GregGang #NewGrowth #NewPlants Hello I am happy to share that Iโ€˜ve received the first Plant mail of 2025. All cacti shipped bare roots, no pots, no soil. So I spent last Friday afternoon on a Marathon potting session. And here are the results: 1) all nicely wrapped, 2) Mammillaria elongata โ€žCopper Kingโ€œ,3) are the Fire sticks (pencil cactus) I am using the skewers to support the sticks. There were individual sticks all with small roots and they were a little wooblely. 4) is the Alluaudia procera or Madagascar Ocotillo. The 5) is the Agave Lophantha โ€žSplendidaโ€œ. The rest will have to be added in the comments! So thereโ€™s more to look at!
#WhatTheSuccWednesday #SucculentSquad #CactusClique #NewPlants #PlantMail continued with 5 more Pics. 1) is the Notacactus Scopa Cactus, that I have not been able to add to my Oasis. 2) is the Isolacereus dumortieri, 3) is the last of the new arrivals itโ€™s the Pilosocereus cephalocereus palmeri. The 4) is the Crown of thorns with the most adorable tiny flowers. And last but not least the Dorstenia Foetida or shield Flower and itโ€™s blooming it is hard to see since the flowers are green as well just like the rest of the plant. Well this is all I have on this cold Wednesday afternoon. Hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week and try and stay warm. Canโ€™t wait for Spring to get here!!
@TheConservator beautiful. I especially like the Cooperi, Iโ€™ve never seen one of those before. That is why I love this site! ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿคฉ

@JenniferNoel they are pretty !๐Ÿคฉ
@YammieOf3 im obsessed with yours! Omg ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜
Nice ๐Ÿ‘
@ToMuchPlants thanks! Itโ€™s not dragon blood, itโ€™s fuldaglut! Itโ€™s red all the summer and winter. My dragon blood is green too ๐Ÿ‰
@JenniferNoel wow, the whole colony decided to bloom at once! Iโ€™ve started growing semps 6 months ago, cannot wait until they mature
@Artonina - They are really fun to watch and EXTREMELY pretty, but once they bloom they are dead!! Thatโ€™s the crappy part about them! But I think the flowers are worth it ๐Ÿฅฐ

Iโ€™ve never tried, but you can prop the babies they send out! So itโ€™s an ongoing plant which I think is pretty cool!!
@Ms.Persnickety excellent plantmail!
Thank you for the feature!
Some of my green babies๐Ÿฅฐ
@Artonina ah, then it is normal but still so beautiful
@JenniferNoel so gorgeous!
@Artonina - Thank You ๐Ÿฅฐ
I just finished bottom watering ALL of my succulents, and thatโ€™s a lot! I used the bath tub. ๐Ÿ˜‚
Getting tall!
@Jana85 what are the purple ones? I love purple!
@IconAtom47 there are some purple echeveriaโ€”lots if varieties of echeveria are purple, so I bet you could find lots of those youโ€™d like! Perle von Nurnberg is a popular variety that is very purple, but most of mine were unlabeled and I donโ€™t know their names. Lots of succulents come in beautiful pastel colors that look just dreamy together!
@RJG Your Pearl Echeveria is stunning!! I would LOVE some tips on how to keep them thriving - my baby Scarlett has declined almost to the point of death twice now this past year. She is resilient, but I cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong with her. Here's a photo of her now - she is currently sitting in my propogation tray callousing, as I recently had to chop her at the stem (for the second time this year) due to significant leaf loss and suspected root decline.

Last time I chopped her stem, she made a come back and grew back to her original size, only to almost immediately shrink and decline again. How do you care for your Echeveria (light, soil, watering, etc)? Any tips would be so helpful!
@Jana85 Omg... Your pot of echeveria!!! I am obsessed! Did you pot all of those or buy them that way? And how do you keep them thriving all together in the pot like that? They are beautiful!

My echeveria is declining for the second time this year, so I would really appreciate some tips if you have them ๐Ÿค

Edited to say ALL of your succs are gorgeous and clearly thriving, so any tips in general would be wonderful ๐Ÿ˜‚

@FairyFly @grateful_68 @Jana85 @YammieOf3 @Artonina @CourtlyKingfern @MW_Kaktushaus @IconAtom47 @Ms.Persnickety @Prentyce @Shells_Garden @ToMuchPlants @Azplantchic @HolyShangrila99 @ILoveMyPlants @LovesToTravel @PeachyMoneytree @Shellyjam56 @vvvelo @SucculentSavant @StarryKentia
@SucculentSavant thanks! The pot of echeveria โ€œLolaโ€ are all leaf props. I have a Lola that got really tall and I decided to chop and prop it, and it had a lot of leaves on the stem that I propped. Leaf props take ages to grow, so these have been in here since the spring. Echeveria LOVE light, so the most important thing about growing them is light. Theyโ€™ll get stretchy and weak very quickly without extremely strong light. All of my succs go outside in the summer but in the winter, I keep them indoors under Barrina T8 lights, on for about 14 hours a day. Thatโ€™s really the key. And Iโ€™m a fan of terra cotta pots, since they prevent root rot. I bottom water the succs when I notice the leaves are getting softer/more flexible, but not beforeโ€”a hard leaf is already full of water. Idk if any of that is helpful but those are the rules my succs live by! ๐Ÿ˜
@JenniferNoel actually, I propped many semp babies, thatโ€™s easy! I think I have around 100 baby semps which grew the roots in my back porch. Iโ€™m waiting for them to get bigger before I plant them outdoors.
@Jana85 I love your collection!
@Jana85 Amazing that you got a full pot of props to grow so beautifully! I haven't gotten my pearl echeveria to thrive nearly enough to afford propping, but hopefully I can get the care down. It may be my favorite succulent out of my bunch, but it's struggled the most ๐Ÿฅฒ

I'm guessing my issue has been the light. I keep all my succs right next to a South facing window and under a grow light at max strength ~12 hours a day, which has seemingly been great for the majority of my succs, but maybe not enough for my echeveria. I'll have to look into the Barrina T8 lights and maybe let my echeveria have one to itself.

Thank you for the tips!! We'll see if the light makes a difference ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ
Very beautiful #SucculentSquad
All the cactus are cactusing!!!
