Oh no.. (#spiderplant)

This has been going on for a while, and I was thinking I could solve it, but nothing. After googling this, I found the cause to be overwatering. Is any of this salvageable? If not, I can ask for a propagating from my grandma (I gave her a pup from this spider plant back in Christmas). This looks to be a heavy loss. I'm thinking maybe this piece could be saved (of course, I'll clip the end off since it looks rotted) and propagate it, but I'm afraid it could be a waste of my time. What do you guys think?

I’m not sure if you could propagate it without any roots attached, or any rinzome. There would be nowhere for roots to grow from. It would have been better to keep the plant intact and cut off the yellow/brown parts. I think it’s a good idea to ask grandma for a pup. Good much!
That little bit looks like it’s just leaves. Sorry but that won’t grow roots unfortunately. Best to get a new pup!
