Watermelon Peperomia Going Pale!

#peperomia #watermelonpeperomia

Hi guys, I have got this watermelon Peperomia from a cutting I took from my mother in Laws plant that wasn't doing so well. So far it's only produced some tiny new leaves that haven't really been growing.

It's now started to go a really pale shade of green. I haven't been over watering, I've been waiting until the soil feels dry when I stick my finger in like I do with my other plants before I water.

Just wondering if it's maybe because it's getting too much sun?, Ive never had a watermelon Peperomia before so really not sure with these ones, #plantpeach

Hi Emily! Do you recall which part of the plant you took the cutting from? It sounds like what happens to older leaves when they begin to die off. Usually the oldest leaves on watermelon peperomia are also the biggest, which would explain why the new growth is so small. I'd leave the large pale leaf attached since it's still providing energy, then you can either let it fall off on its own or remove it once it's dried up.
@stephonicle Ahhh thank youu, it was hard to tell which part of the plant the cutting was taken from because the mother plant was in such bad condition in the first place 😂, some parts were dead some were really leggy some were short some were rotten, my mother in law just can't keep plants alive to save her life bless her 😂 I just wanted to try and save a little part of it so I just took the healthiest looking leaves at the time.

It does seem to just be the biggest leaf that is going pale so it could just be that is is the oldest,

I will leave it alone to do it's thing and see what happens, thank you 😊
