Should I chop ?
So Iβve been dealing with powdery mildew. Have been treating with neem oil mix spray. The other succulents seem to be doing well except these 3. What do I do ? Do I chop off ? #help #powderymildew #SucculentSquad

@FabRubbercup the two I de-leafed by a lot, so far minimal if any problems reacurring.. right now I am using potassium bicarbonate(stronger version of baking soda that kills on contact), but am also looking into buying Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, itβs a bacteria that inhibits fungal diseases but also helps to endure your plants proper defenses against them.. in simple words if youβd like to look into it βΊοΈ I was trying to stay away from anything that would burn my succulent leaves.
@SvelteKingfern the space is hard, but the fan I can do !!!
@Artistic_Stoner so how did the de-leafing ? I also bought some copper spray and a fan. Waiting for them to arrive
@Artistic_Stoner ooooooo okay okay ππππ
@FabRubbercup I highly recommend looking into Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, itβs great for plants even without powdery mildew! Anyways, if you could, please keep me updated on how the copper spray works! Hope the best for your plants !!
@Artistic_Stoner so out of everything that youβve said, what would you deem safest for me and my plants and most effective. Like I only bought the copper spray because internet and Greg. And my kinda desperate to save my babies π₯Ήπ
@FabRubbercup Hm, well if you have been treating everything with neem oil & are having success, I would just keep doing what youβre doing! As for the other three, Iβd maybe separate them from the others & remove the leaves you see PM on & treat it as you are, then when you feel it is gone you can chop & prop it. I didnβt chop any yet cause I donβt want mine to go into some kind of shock & plus they all live outside so Iβm waiting till it warms up in a month or so.. just take the side of caution when using copper as it can be toxic for leaves and the roots, if used too much I mean! I feel your pain, why powdery mildew has to be on my favorites idk π itβs my first occurrence with it, & im trying everything natural before I pull the trigger on an actual fungicide..
Boost the humidity and the plants should fight it itself. The airflow also is another key to fight it off. The soil has milli bug eggs, so cannot be eliminated entirely and does no harm to roots, not to the amount of roots that a healthy plant would have.
The method that works for me is to have a dish with alcohol and tweezers handy. Manually remove it with tweazeers and then dub with a cotton swab wetted in alcohol to remove the dusty residue that remains on the stem or leaf.
Neem oil may help but it leaves an oily splash traces on leaves that I do not like to wipe after - time consuming. The smell stays long after spraying indoors, not something that I particularly enjoy.

@Floristsdaisy milli bugs ? π³ itβs powdery mildew
@Artistic_Stoner just sprayed every succulent and cactus I own with copper fungicide π€and have my fan blowing at the lowest setting to a bit of airflow. I also wanted to try every natural route being as all the plants are in my bedroom. But Iβm getting desperate ππ. I did take them all outside when I sprayed them because I donβt want all that in my airflow. Now we just pray π and wish for summer .
@FabRubbercup Bless your heart, Iβm at my wits end & getting depressed.. Iβm saying a prayer for you & themππΌ a friend luckily had that stuff I was telling you about & am going to try it before I buy a bottle myself, so Iβll let you know how that goes! Iβm also doing the buttermilk spray but I need to wait for a sunny day, what they donβt tell you is the sun is an essential part to spraying them with milk for it to work efficiently π€¦πΌββοΈ so Iβll let you know how good the both are, maybe there is hope to keep it natural! Keep us updated how the copper worked please !!
@Artistic_Stoner thank you π₯Ήπyes most definitely letβs hope for good change within a week π€π€ππ
@FabRubbercup hey! Just wanted to reach out & see how the copper worked ? Hoping itβs made progress for you & hope your babies are doing better!
@Artistic_Stoner lost a few more leaves π, but since spraying them. Iβve seen a lot of new growth on my more badly hit succulents. So I think itβs going well. ππ
@FabRubbercup ugh so happy to hear that ππΌ I myself think Iβm getting a handle on my PM problem.. was inspecting mine today & thought about your plants & how the copper worked! Been saying a prayer for all the victims of powdery mildew π looks like yours have minimal ugliness from the scarring so thatβs awesome too. I have a couple I canβt wait get more growth to remove the ugly leaves lol. Thanks for the update, hope youβre in the clear!
@Artistic_Stoner Iβll pray for both of our plant babies πππ
@FabRubbercup itβs much appreciated, we got this πͺπΌπβΊοΈ
