Hi Harvey ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ

It's hard to say without having seen the plant through the process, but here are some common reasons:
-Something happened in transit that you didn't know about
-Transplant shock
-The new pot was too big and it got root rot
-It had a disease or pest coming from the nursery

Sorry to hear your plant didn't make it, I hope you get to try again soon!
I always wait at least 2 wks before repotting to give them time to acclimate to my environment. I also wait till I have a really good root system that's telling me it needs more room. If there's way more soil than roots it cud go into shock. I definitely did that a few times before started actually learning about plants.
Hello Harvey ๐Ÿ™‚

Maybe it didn't need a bigger pot?
Was it a succulent, and did you water it when repotting? Because it might have been overwatered, then ๐Ÿ˜”๐Ÿ‚
