You can if you want, it's really up to you. They can survive in water as long as you change it out regularly, but they won't really thrive unless you and add nutrients to the water that they'd typically get from soil. If you do decide to transfer to soil, the plant might show signs of decline initially while it's adapting to the new medium. Water roots are very different from soil roots. Soil roots are stronger because they have to work harder to draw nutrients from the soil, so your plant will grow new roots once it's moved to soil. Give it some time, and be careful not to overwater, and it should eventually bounce back π
