Succulent watering?

I saw this tip and was wondering if anyone does this. It seems logical. You pinch the sides of the leaves.

If they bend, water. Pic 1
If they don’t bend, don’t water. Pic 2

It’s so hard to not over water them because I want to hug them and pet them and squeeze them and name them all George. #WateringDay #wateringtips #lovesuccs #Succulents
If they bend it could also be a sign of over watering because they get soft when there is to much water
@Briannak702 ooh that’s right! But wait.. if I water after they dry out, and then only water next time after they get bendy again, it might work.
@Hypsie that's true. Just be careful of over watering I over watered one of my plants a couple times and she got these tiny flies. Only way to kill them off is to let it dry out completely and let it stay dry for a few days.
@Briannak702 Yeah those are annoying. I know what you mean.
Yep, I saw this method on YouTube. It make sense.
