Why is this leaf different colored?

The most recent leaf is such a different color than the others. The rest are mostly darker green with some light variegation, but this one is almost all light green. It’s not completely unfurled, so I know it’s still young and hardening, but will it get darker? None of the other leaves ever came out like this.

Epipremnums are so weird with their variegations too. I have a neon that just randomly gets green variegation on some leaves and white on others. My global green sometimes has one that looks like a lightning strike on one vine. A jade vine turned out to be slightly golden. My marble queen sometimes has nearly white leaves, sometimes the variegation takes on a mostly light green color, I don't get it. It's beatiful tho.
In short, pothos are weird.
Anyways, yours looks gorgeous! Keep it up!
Welcome to the wild world of variegation! Some leaves will be lighter than others, and some will be darker, it's literally a roll of the dice.
First time it’s happened to me lol
Newer leaves will come in lighter too
I may be mistaken is a marble queen a hybrid ? Could that factor in?
@QuickKalopanax 😢😢 no clue lol
@Nettle now that you mention it, I did notice that my neon pothos has a leaf or 2 with variegation on them.
Probably because it’s new. They sprout, uncurl, or unfurl and they come out looking as a baby leaf would, like baby skin, baby leaves r different. They need to mature to a deeper color as well as strength. My rose Calathea’s new leaves grow upward and look like straws, then all of a sudden they’re leaves but light green, then they gradually turn a deep red
That’s what I had thought too. But this hasn’t happened with the other leaves it’s put out.
