Leaves Falling
#Peperomia I just repotted my baby rubber plant because the leaves keep falling off, when I got her she was a little sickly but had many more leaves, do you think she was in too big of a pot? I just repotted her to a much smaller one. Can I propagate the two stems remaining in water?

3ft to light, indirect

3β pot with drainage

Last watered 1 year ago

Hi there! @sieberi
I have mine is a SE window with a light curtain to protect it from strong rays. I *think* yours might need more sun than a NE window can provide. If you donβt have another area, maybe a grow light bulb in a lamp or a grow light?
Iβm not sure what size pot you had it on before, but a pot that is more than 2 inches larger than the plantβs root ball is likely too big. The soil stay wet too long as the roots can only take up so much water and then root rot can happen.
How did the roots look when you re-potted? Weβre there any mushy roots? If the roots were okay, you can leave it in soil. Giving it more *indirect* light should help it grow more. Hope this helps! πͺ΄π

@SunnyPlants Thanks so much!!! I will try moving the placement so it gets some more light. The roots were pretty small but not mushy and didnβt smell!
@sieberi Thatβs good news! Hopefully it will be happier in brighter light. Just be careful that itβs not *direct* light as that will burn itβs leaves! Happy to help anytime! πͺ΄π
Hello Sierra βΊοΈ
What you have here is a jelly plant, not a baby rubber plant βΊοΈ
She looks very droopy indeed.
How often do you water? π§
The best way to treat her is like a succulent. πΏ
She wants to dry out almost completely before you water again.
If the leaves feel plumb, hold off on watering.
If they feel soft and squishy while the soil is dry, give her a drink βΊοΈ
Mine is in a W facing window and is pushing out leaves on all stems..
She is getting quite a bit of afternoon sun and is very pink on the leaves and thriving βΊοΈ
I would indeed have it in a small pot because too much moisture in the soil will kill it βΊοΈπΏ
