Can you identify this pest?

This is a new pest for me, but it's popped up on a couple plants this summer 😫

I am feeling like I need to start treating everyone instead of just isolating and cleaning, etc.

Does anyone know what it is?

@PlantMompy Ashley at my first glance I thought thrips, only because they look like dirt until I seen the rest. Hmmm I am following this thread. I know @HoyaAddict or @AnthuriumQueen would know.
@TwistedThreads I had a chance to Google and that's my guess too. We will see what others say 😬
This is exactly what the black bug I saw on my Swiss cheese looked like. It was fast. I started treating for thirps.
@KDkat3 ugh. I'm going to give lots of showers and trims tonight and use some insecticidal soap. I ordered systemic granules. I don't love the idea of using them but from what I read with the eggs being IN the foliage it's my best bet for getting every stage of their life cycle.
@TwistedThreads thanks for the tag! 🌿 @PlantMompy , they are thrips. The best method is to toss the soil and bathe the entire plant with peppermint soap, then rinse. Quarantine it. Check the foliage for resurgence every day between 7-9am, 11-Noon, and 6pm-8pm. If you have more thrips, wash them off. Meanwhile, take note of whether they prefer one leaf over others. If so, cut that entire stem off and add Bonide’s Eight to the watering schedule. The larvae in the soil will be πŸ’€ and the juveniles will be addressed with the systemic over a period of size weeks. Treat and monitor for 6 weeks and up to four weeks after the last attack. It’s the only way to get rid of these. Monitor your other plants as well. Theils love to fly in order to leaf-hop.
@AnthuriumQueen so check them when my kids eat breakfast, lunch, and go down for bed. Got it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜‚πŸ˜
@PlantMompy yes. Sadly, that’s the schedule to catch thrips if they are active.
1000% thrips
Ugh my heart goes out to you! Thrips are the worst. Hang in there! I battled them a bit ago. Fortunately the plant is small so I could get on top of it. Great advice here already so I’ll only add that I used sticky traps too. They can fly/jump so it was an added layer of treatment.
Hi! I've dealt with thrips this year, and I used Captain Jacks deadbug to get rid of them. It worked for me 😁
