I need help with another #plantid

I recently got a wonderful cacti haul. They all had accurate IDs except for this one. It just said mammillaria. Greg says mammillaria elegans, that's what it's marked now, but Google says parodia. I'm not sure, if it is mammillaria, there are so many how do I tell which one it is!? #plantaddict #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #succulentlove #newplantmom #plantid #plantmoms #cactusclique #cactus #cacti

Hi Kourtney πŸ‘‹ it’s always super hard to identify some types of cacti/succulents if there are many that look alike! I use the App PlantSnap to help with identifying sometimes because it tends to give you a good variety of options that usually come very close to the plant or at least close enough for further research. I think what you have there might not be a mammillaria at all but a coryphantha glanduligera. With mammillarias the spike clusters usually have finer, smaller, and shorter spikes that are more uniform in look. Maybe wait what others say but i think coryphantha glanduligera or some other type of coryphantha! I hope that helps! It’s a very beautiful cactus and i hope it grows well🌡
Thank you @JoshsGreenThumb, I'll definitely look into that app and put coryphantha glanduligera in my research list.
It looks like a Mammillaria Pin Cushion to me πŸ’š
