Big pot with no drainage.
With no drainage in the pot, it’s likely overwater or potentially already has root rot!
Uh on. I think it needs a smaller pot with drainage holes. If the pot’s too big, the soil can stay wet for too long, and same thing with no drainage holes.
And not just for the basket plant. I would reccomend getting pots with drainage for all your plants, especially the snake plant because it’s a kind of cactus, and cacti like really dry soil.
I am currently transferring all my plants to clear plastic pots with lots of drainage and then going to just set them inside a decorative pot. This way I know they are getting drainage but also can keep an eye on their roots with no stresss to the plant. Then I can also change it’s decorative pot whenever I get the whim to redecorate haha
Hi Lisa! I noticed the pot your basket plant is in doesn’t have drainage; this could definitely be the cause of its wilting and spotting. Basket plants require drainage holes and a coarse soil blend to ensure they don’t become waterlogged and develop root rot, which appears likely to be occurring with your plant. I’d recommend switching Drake to a pot with drainage holes and adding a layer of small rocks or pebbles along the base of the new pot to further increase its drainage. I’d also consider padding out Drake’s current soil (or switching it out completely if it isn’t particularly coarse) with a blend of one part peat or perlite to every two parts regular potting mix to increase aeration to its root system, which will assist in its recovery. I hope this helps and best of luck with your basket plant πŸͺ΄
@RighteousMango IF you're going to keep her in that pot then you must water it much less and let it dry out almost completely
