Browning fern?

#LemonButtonFern I know these guys are lower light, and according to my placement these should be in good shape. But this guy is browning quickly. I thought maybe it needed more light so I put it it in a shaded corner of my patio, where there is indirect sunlight. It got really dark, so I’m not sure if it burned it? But it keeps telling me to water the soil and the soil feels so wet. I don’t wanna overwater. Thoughts? The same thing is happening to my Venus fern.

Over water and any direct sunlight are a big no no for ferns. Use a moisture meter and only water when the top couple inches of the soil are dry. They also like humidity.
@NewPlantMama13 I was thinking I was watering too much. This schedule here has be watering when the soil still looks wet. So I’ll hold off on watering and see how much of a difference it makes. These definitely don’t get direct sunlight and when I put them outside it was in a dark corner. Maybe that was still too much.
@PrimoGhostplant they do like some indirect light, so I don’t suggest keeping them in the dark either. Good luck! You got this!
οΏΌ if you think you are overwatering, you definitely are. Go with your judgment over any hard and fast schedule. placing the plant outdoors in a dark dark corner is fine for light, but it’s not going to give it the humidity levels it craves. It looks like your container is pretty small. Maybe you could put a plastic cup over the top or saran wrap and this should help, keep the humidity high. οΏΌ also, don’t water that much just enough to reach the roots.
@PrimoGhostplant I stopped following the app guidelines for watering. I lost several plants, including my Lemon Button Fern. I just bought a replacement. This time I will use a meter or finger touch to determine water needs.
@ProperWharangi that is really smart, i started snoozing the notifications because this keeps telling me to water them, but the soil is so wet and saturated. I put them outside because one looks filthy and moldy, and the other has brown tips. I’m trying to see if very indirect sunlight will help
