They like moist soil so letting your plants dry out helps. You can also use sticky traps. There are also little bug machines that’ll suck fungus gnats up. Other option, systemics. I use 209. You just add it to the water your watering with and it kills a variety of pests including fungus gnats, spider mites and thrips.
I have the sticky traps.. was looking more appealing look.. πŸ˜‚
You can mix mosquito bits into your soil or water or add hydrogen peroxide to the plant or water, I use the later. As far as things that look nice, I bought some pinguiculas! They are adorable and work like a dream! If you're into carnivorous plants that is. Lol
Also bottom watering really helps! And a sprinkle of cinnamon on top 😁

I’ve used cinnamon and sticky traps, you can get them in fun shapes on Amazon!
@PlantMompy Yes! Mosquito bits. Forgot that one. I add mosquito bits to my soil as a preventative measure. You can also brew mosquito bit β€œtea” and water with that.
@emmiev123 Cinnamon’s definitely another good one. I’ve used that for pests and to break down fungus in the soil.
I use Mosquito Bits and sticky traps as well as fruit fly traps.
