Might as well talk about this again cause it's the most interesting thing happening in my oasis right now lol. What began as a cat-induced injury to my echeveria leaf after first bringing it home turned into a crazy opportunity for new growth! @FirstCanna my grandma gave me one. Thanks for showing a violet. They aren’t trendy so there’s not a ton of posts on them. They’re a little fussy but once you get them happy they’re forgiving. The color is like electric purple-blue

Exciting new leaf week for me!!

New Begonia Starry Nights leaf! They are always really fun to watch grow.

I am sooo happy to see blooms on my little Christmas cactus 🥰 it started as a little tiny cutting from my mom's plant a year ago and this is the first time it's bloomed!

My monstera has its first fenestrated leaf!!! I got it as a small plant and have up potted it twice (at least) in the past year (I know I know) and it's very happy all of a sudden. I thought I was going to have to wait a lot longer for fenestration 🥳🥳

Syngonium mojito has a new leaf coming! First one since I brought it home  Hoping for awesome variegation 🤞🤞

New PPP leaf...I think it's going to be almost 50% pink 😍

Good Morning everyone! I have quite a few new buds to share. Since everyone has fully moved inside until Spring arrives I was worried we would see much growth. However it looks like everyone is giving a last push before nap time.

My #SpiderPlant has multiple shoots that are forming baby spider plants. It’s so much fun watching these guys form. This plant was my biggest concern because I’ve killed every other spider plant I’ve had.

My #Syngonium has been a trooper. It was in the large gift of plants I received about a month (more?) back and it has never stopped producing new leaves. I think it’s trying to compete with my golden pothos.

I’m over the moon about my #AsparagusFern! It has two whole new shoots. One is taller than all the others. I constantly want to pet this plant. (I’m doing my best to not.)

My #BirdOfParadise has a new leave as well and it seems like it’s a lot bigger than the last one some I’m excited to see just how big.

Last, my #BabyRubberPlant has really come a long way and it’s still putting out cute little leaves. I think it might be getting close to time for a repot though. All the new leaves are pushing off the old leaves.

Have you ever seen a peace Lily push out such a tiny spadix?? I think it’s from the duress it was under when I saved her from Walmart 😬 and the Micans couldn’t wait to grow, so it pushed its way thru it’s sister leaf 😂 the Monstera Perus & Burle Marx are growing along well, and the NJoy well, it’s just a monster 😆

My sister sent me a subscription box for my birthday in a couple weeks.  I was so surprised when it showed up today and it comes with super Greg! 😁 So excited for these brand new fresh leaf Friday plants!! The paper says Peperomia Frost and Echeveria Hens and Chick (which I am completely clueless how to care for but I love it!!)

@Colin Is a “Polly” the same as an African Mask? Mine was labeled the latter in its little pot but when I see pictures of a Polly they look the same.

@RJG Colin didn’t post it but it was in his oasis. Can you tell from this picture what kind of alocasia mine was?  It started with 3 leaves, then two browned and died. This last leaf held on but eventually did the same. I don’t know what I did wrong. I had it under a grow light even. The label said African Mask. What would you call it? I do want to try one again because it has been a long time since a plant has died on me and I love the way these look.

@RJG Thank you. All the other plants I have bought at the plant shop I discovered, have done well. I have seen on Greg that these can be tricky so I try not to beat myself up too badly, but it is a helpless feeling when a plant is going and I can’t stop it.

@RJG Funny you say that. Last week I cut off the old leaf and noticed the roots appeared still alive, so I gave it some new soil and watered it and put it back under the grow light. No change. So I just cut it off at the base and watered (I had only cut off the brown leaves before). Is this far enough back?@jcPlantProper

@UnbiasedTree Wow! What a story! Misty was an abandoned kitten at the apartment complex I lived in when I was in Austin for a year. I took her in and she was a very friendly cat. I brought her back to Toledo which is where I came from, and she lived with me and then my husband and me near Dayton, and died at 13 when hit by a car. She had a great life with us. After her, we never let any of our cats go outside. Misty was my first cat as an adult, not in my family of origin as our other cats had been. After her, we have had Abyssinians because Misty was so loving, and Abys are known as the friendliest breed.

@UnbiasedTree I was never successful with a cat on a leash. They always wanted to do their own thing.  We had let Misty out and called her in before dark, because she was outside at the original apartment complex and was used to being out. So she always wanted to be let out. Our later cats never got to go out at all and so didn’t try to get out any chance they could and we didn’t have that worry with them; also we didn’t have to thwart a craving to go out when they were longing to get back out. They are curious and look out the windows and are right there when we open the door.  However they are there to greet us and don’t try to run out.
