Lithops not splitting but... drying

Hi, this is my first post here ๐Ÿ‘‹
Look at him such a cute little guy :)
There were 5 of them when I bought this plant in November. I did something wrong, of course, but I'm not sure what. I watered (rarely, because it's winter), but they keep getting wrinkles and dry out - but i dont see them splitting. I'd buy a new one, but I'm kinda scared I'll kill the new one too without some guidance. Please help - what should I do?

How often are you watering? And light ? And when you gently squeeze them are they firm of soft ?

I water it maybe once every 3-4 weeks. It's hard for me to estimate the amount, but let's say it's 2-3 tablespoons of water. I water it straight into the ground, I avoid pouring water directly onto the plant. It's on the windowsill, so it gets quite a bit of light.

And wrinkled ones are kinda squishy? definitely not firm
