Help! What the heck is this?

I just went to water and noticed these weird things on my English ivy. Chat gtp said it's a mealybug infestation and to wipe them off with 70% alcohol. But they are hard and very hard to get off. So Ivy's get Arial roots? There's some parts that look like Arial roots. Maybe it's just some diformity? Please advise me on what I should do. Tia#Hedera

Trust the gpt! It doesn't look like mealybugs to me, but I've had infestations of grown ones and the babies that are tiny and black. Try watering that plant with a 1:1 ratio of alcohol and water with a drop of dish soap, doesn't harm the plant aslong as you don't go overboard. If that doesn't do anything then you're good, I have cuttings but the new growth do NOT look like that. If you find out let me know, I'm curious.
So later that night i looked it up, and they are Arial roots. They can get super wild when they grow on houses. Glad I didn't do anything before finding out.
