I've never grown these, but I did find references to similar issues through a Google search, and it appears to be nothing to worry about, but you might adjust your watering schedule. It is caused when the plant has too much water. The plant tries to release some of the water through a process called guttation, and the water comes out the stomata (pores) leaving behind sugar that crystallizes on the surface.
