is this possible to save?

this is a rex begonia that was once thriving? but i’ve needed to repot it for a while and haven’t gotten to it. I will say I am not a plant expert, and all the leaves have fallen off but there are still two stems that seem to be doing okay? any advice? there was no drainage in the pot and ai think that was the issue
0ft to light, indirect
4” pot without drainage

I think you can save it, if the stems are still good (eg green inside) then it isn't as bad as it could be. So probably good idea to repot to give it the best chance, in nice fresh new soil mix and add drainage by using a pot with holes in the bottom. Just for the moment, use your finger in the soil to feel how wet or dry it is. This is just a start but I believe you can save it. However, you will know so much better when you check the roots in any repot.
@LovelyLilac nice looking dog in the photo, by the way.
@Seymour thank you so much. Love the image as well that’s so true! the soil is wet and has been for a while so i definitely need to repot asap
@LovelyLilac Yes, that seems to confirm it. So it may have lead to the roots rotting. When you go to repot, may be good to sterilize the roots by using cinnamon after removing any dead roots, etc. The lack of drainage would not have helped. Let me know if there is anything else that comes up for you. I am a member of the Plant Life Saving Club, LOL πŸ˜€
