The new drama queen, any ideas to help make her happy?
Of course I cracked...I'm up for the challenge of a stunning Calathea. She came pretty bunched up and a little tinged brown but hasn't really settled or opened much since arriving home. I try give her at least 5 hours of sun and I live in the tropics so humidity shouldn't be an issue. Maybe less sun? Or should I start misting her?

2ft to light, indirect
10” pot with drainage
Last watered 2 weeks ago

Your Calathea Beauty Star prefers medium to bright indirect light—so placing it in front of an east, west, or north window is ideal. Direct sun burns the leaves and causes the beautiful leaf colors to fade.

I would give her at least a week to get settled into her new how. They say it takes 2 week for a new plant to acclimate to its new environment. So just be patient and see how she does. Also, I noticed your pot doesn’t have drainage so be careful on waterings. Water your Calathea when the top 25% of soil is dry.
She’s hiding from the sun, pull her into a more indirect light spot and she should be happy 😃
