Sad lil spider plant
Howdy everyone. Iβve been growing this lil spider plant from a baby spiderling for awhile and itβs been going downhill. I just got back from vacation and it was dry so I gave it plenty of water, but one of the main spiderlings looked all dead, and I could pull it right out. So now Iβm just down to this one lil guy. I canβt tell if Iβve been overwatering or underwatering. Any pointers on where I screwed up and how I can help keep this guy alive? Thank you all :)

Hello! What a cute plant! My initial thought is the pot may be slightly too big for this plant as these actually like to be quite root bound!
I also wonder what type of light itβs receiving and when it was last fertilized?
I canβt speak for everyone, but I know my spider plant was happiest with as much bright, indirect light as it could get! It really took off in a south facing window so I highly recommend that π
As far as the watering, I think it may have just had a bit too much time without water & is throwing a little fit after receiving water! π

@elisenavidad ah thatβs what I was maybe suspecting. Would it be a good idea to give him a more snug fitting pot? I get pretty decent indirect sunlight, but sometimes thereβs a bit of direct light which Iβm afraid might be burning the leaves. I havenβt fertilized yet.
@jtizzle if itβs direct morning light it may actually enjoy it, however evening isnβt recommended! Personally, Iβd give it a smaller pot, thatβs just me though! I think itβll help it adjust and get more comfortable quicker!
@elisenavidad will do! Thank you so much :)
@jtizzle my pleasure!
Also, I would definitely recommend repotting when ever one part dies, because Iβve noticed that after that remaining parts really struggle. So itβs best to gently remove most of the soil and repot in a fresh one. And one tip for watering - it βshowsβ you when you need to water it by its leaves getting βpaleβ (slightly less green than normal) and/or starting wrapping up (to conserve moisture)
@elisenavidad I agree. π
