ZZ propagating
ZZ leaf cutting and stem cutting both growing roots, should I wait until the roots are at least 2" long before potting these cuttings? #propagationstation #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy #plantaddict #zzplant #greggang #greggers #crazyplantlady

As long as they have formed a rhizome and have roots at least an inch, I would say it’s fine to pot. I have potted at 1” and longer, both plants are doing equally well.
Thank you @stryker49 πŸ₯°
Question- did you cut them and place them directly in the water or did you let the end dry?
@Plantenergy the branch I accidentally broke, so trimmed it and stuck it in water, the leaf I just snipped it and stuck in water not knowing if it would do anything, I'm surprised, but pleased πŸ˜„
@Sassylimey that’s interesting! I noticed on my ZZ plant last night that a branch was broken, so I popped it in my β€œprop pool” but then wondered if I was sentencing it to death to not cut it first.
I think it will be ok Georgi, just keep an eye on it, if you see any brown then be sure to snip that off with sterilized scissors. It free roots fairly quickly, can't remember but I think about 2 weeks. Keep me posted @Plantenergy I'd love to know how your ZZ prop does πŸ₯°πŸŒ±πŸŒΏπŸ’›
@Sassylimey will do! Thanks for the advice! Didn’t know about the scissors.
@Plantenergy just wipe your scissors off with alcohol, to prevent any diseases being spread to other plants πŸ˜‰
A ZZ plant is another #wishlistplant for me😏
@Marthamaywho92 ZZ's are such an easy plant to care for and they are such a cool plant 😎 They are basically an ignore plant. Only one of mine was expensive for my budget with shipping costs, and had sadly turned out to be a plant with issues. The rest I've found locally at $10 or less!! If my ZZ cutting had more roots is send it to you πŸ˜‰
Cool. I just put a cutting of my ZZ in perlite. Hoping it roots
