It's a joy to see a true Easter cactus!

I believe what you are seeing is corking, a natural process for older cacti, although it can also be a response to stress. What might be causing the plant stress is something you can ponder ๐Ÿค” on. But, I don't think it's a "disease" or direct damage from pests (although some pest could definitely cause stress, so it could be secondary.). To me, it actually looks as though the plant could be a little on the dry side, as these tend to like a little more moisture than a desert ๐ŸŒต.
I agree with @UltraKoreanfir about the corking. It's natural. (:

It's the plant's way of toughening up so it can hold up more growth.

I love how large your plant is! But I think your plant is a Schlumbergera truncata (a Thanksgiving cactus) becuase it has the little pointy ends. My grandmother always called it her Christmas Cactus too. One of mine is grown from a piece of hers. ๐Ÿ’š
