Im pretty new to plants, i own a few and had this aloe gifted to me around two months ago and it went through major trauma being in my bedroom that gets low light, i had also over watered her i believe and she turned very thin, curling inwards, browning in some spots/ grey ish, tips were browning, ( i think was due to water contamination) and just not too green at all. I did lots of research and realised it needed a much brighter window and move it to my i believe west facing window and it sits on the cill in the morning sun, the afternoon sun i move it to on the counter where a strip of it is pure sunshine ( the only sunny spot in my place) and i move it to where the Sun is throughout the day since i dont get much of it, shes been in light for 3 ish weeks now and i dont know if shes recovering okay? i notice shes much greener now ( in photo) but still very thin and i looked for root rot, i believe it was just starting on the big aloe, i pruned it, repotted them all 2 ish weeks after i overwatered her i believe, and most of the bigger babies lost their roots aswell before i repotted. The babies arent as curled as the big aloe but one is very brown in colour and they are thinning quickly. What do i do?? I want to see her thrive again, she was so thick! I also had to cut off some very curled and thin peices.

Yes it looks like it was over watered to me. Also your soil looks heavy. I use cactus and succulent soil with perlite at 1/2 and 1/2 ratio. Another thing I do is use only clay pots so they get good air circulation. My experience has been that aloe's are not sun worshipers. If they do get sun it should be early morning or late evening. Otherwise bright light is the home I would give it.
Looks like maybe overwatering.
Is she producing new leaves?
Yes, they are green and thick anf look normal, the top four on the big aloe only
Will any if the babies/ old leaves recover? I dont want to cut too many off her leaves off if not needed
Best thing I found with my aloe is to make sure the soil is fully dry before you water. Sometimes you can feel the leaves get softer and a little thinner and that’s when you water. Have you seen any root rot? Any parts that are mushy and brown I’d probably cut off. Keep watching the new growth. She may need time to recover and build up some good roots before she’ll put out thick leaves again. I nearly killed my aloe before and it took some careful watering schedules and lots of bright light to get her back. Good luck!!
Thank you!, previously i had seen some rootrot on the big aloe and pruned it off. Im not sure what it looks like now but i hope she re roots fine within the next few weeks, as ill continue to watch her closely!
How much should i cut off the big aloe? I cut off 2-3 peices from the bottom already, i dont know what will recover, and what wont.
