Autumn pruningβοΈπͺ΄
Who else gives their indoor/outdoor plants a autumn shave and stuffs them in a "cool" room so you can practically forget about them until spring?π

@NikkiBplantmom yeah the fungus gnats seems to love theseπ I always have a sticky trap or two out now after I learned the hard way a couple of years agoπ
@MariansOasis thank youπ
@NeatAjwain35 for coleus you can do both. They are usually very willing.
@HolyStarburst they are pretty fast growers, but it takes some time to make a full "tree" π This one is 1,5 years oldπͺ΄π
I grow basil like that, which is distantly related to coleus & they can form trees that will last a year to five years as well indoors if you make sure they don't go to flower, get cold, or get too dry. Otherwise they go to seed or bolt. They make a beautiful bonsai that you can harvest the leaves from for seasoning. Unfortunately coleus is poisonous, but it sure is pretty.
@HolyStarburst that is really coolπ
@MockingJay do the sticky traps work? I bought a bunch of sundew and have them in my plant room but I use apple cider vinegar in a cup and put saran wrap over it and poke holes and that's been working for me so far
@NikkiBplantmom the sticky traps does work, but it takes some time to get them all. I used vinegar and the likes for some time too, but it didn't really get the fungus gnats for me, it works better for the fruit flies.
