So I got this baby a week ago and I noticed these slashes...
12β pot without drainage
Last watered 1 week ago
First of all, beautiful plant!
About your question: Slashes on the leaves like that happen from damage during transport, so nothing to worry about there regarding its health. The leaves wonβt heal, so if you want to cut the slashed leaves off you can! Brown tips of leaves can be cut off too, though it wont βhelpβ the plant, it looks a bit prettier haha. You may want to wait thoughβShell ginger is prone to transpant shock, meaning its health can decline when trying to adjust to a new home, and taking off leaves so soon might not help.
To help the plant, you can try to address the underlying issue. I canβt exactly see any brown tips in frame, but i do know that that usually means the plant has gotten too much water at once. Then again, it could also be a sign of transplant shock. To avoid overwatering, Just make sure to only water when the top inch or two of the soil is dry. The Greg app also shows you how many ounces of water is recommended too, which is helpful!
The bit about brown stems is a bit more concerningβthat could be a sign of rot, do you have any pictures of it so we can help identify the issue there better?
