Is my Pickle plant rotting?

My Pickle Plant has been dying for the last few days. I've tried giving it less water since a lot of online research has given the idea that it's rotting. Is this the case? I'm wondering because it seems to be dry at the roots contradicting what people are saying. I'm going on Vacation in a few days and giving it to a friend. Any idea on what I can do?
10ft to light, indirect
9” pot without drainage
Last watered 3 months ago
@FancierWorm36 In these pictures it looks good to me. I would just prune away the dried portions. Make sure your soil hasn't become hydrophobic.
@UltraKoreanfir Thabk you for the help, but I can't seem to not notice that the plant is turning brown at the bottom parts of the plant. And that doesn't seem to be right. It became even more overnight. I dont want to deny your help but there seems to be something else I should do
@FancierWorm36 Well, the fact that you planted into the new pot without loosening the roots may be causing it some issues. If the roots are too tightly bound, they'll hold onto water in the root ball for too long and rot. I guess you could soak the root ball and loosen those roots up, trim away anything that is mushy, smelly, or looks completely dried out and dead. Then re-pot it in soil that will be loose or aerate it once in a while. That's my best guess.

But, we can tag a large group of folks to get additional thoughts just by doing this #happyplants #plantsmakepeoplehappy @TidyTigerpear #pickleplant
@UltraKoreanfir That does sound reasonable. I'll try it. Thank you very much
@FancierWorm36 You're welcome. Anytime. 😁
@UltraKoreanfir I agree that this can cause issues ! It can cause soil to become water repellent, or if they aren’t loosened before planting, it can cause a stunt of root growth. I always try to remove most the dirt possible from original pot
