Moon cactus help!

I have this moon cactus that has always thrived but recently seemed to turn brown and maybe even the top is rotting? Any ideas or tips? Or is this a normal process? I recently moved and thought maybe it was too cold in my sunroom so I brought it inside and it hasn’t regained color. Any help would be appreciated!

Moon cactus are actually two separate plants that have been grafted together for aesthetic purposes. The top red plant lacks chlorophyll, so it relies on the bottom plant (dragon fruit plant) for its nutrients. Because it's grafted on, it will start to decline and eventually die after a while, however the rootstock plant at the bottom can continue living for many years, even decades! You can either remove the top plant now, or wait for it to dry up more and let it fall off on its own, entirely up to you 😊
@stephonicle oh no! Sad! I’ve had it for years now and it’s been fine! Shocked to hear this! Thank you so much!!
@CheysSunroom no problem! Yes, it's a bummer 😐 They should really include this info with the plant. The whole point is to make it look pretty so customers are more likely to purchase it, so they don't care what happens once it's sold. It's sneaky and misleading 😏 Dragon fruit plants are quite lovely on their own though! They can grow to be enormous πŸŒ΅πŸ˜›
Any point in trying to save the colorful nubs left growing on the side? I’ve seen people graft them but I would assume I need another dragon fruit plant
@CheysSunroom unfortunately they won't survive on their own since they lack chlorophyll 😒

Update… cut the top off to save the bottom but kept the nubs in memoryπŸ˜”
