First attempt at propagation!
Hey #Kalanchoe people! I became obsessed with the Mother of Thousands, and after 3 failed attempts at ordering viable seedlings, Iβm trying this myself (with the help of a special #GregGang friend @Idplantthat π) β advice on what do to after transplanting the cuttings, anyone?? π

2β pot with drainage

@stephonicle do you just regular soil? Or sphagnum moss? Yours look so beautiful
@Idplantthat thanks!! π It's just succulent/cacti soil with extra perlite mixed in, same mix I use for all my succulents. Tweezers are super helpful for moving the little tiny babies over, since most are too small to pick up with my fingers. Here's a pic of them in their new pot, just moved them last night βΊοΈ
@stephonicle holy moly! thatβs just from last night?? It doesnβt even look like it knows it was moved lol well done! π
@Idplantthat haha, thanks! I wasn't sure how best to move them without knocking off all the babies π«£ I ended up just cutting away the plastic dish they were in, fortunately everything held together like a little patty! π I just plopped it down in the new pot and added more soil around the edges. Eventually I'll have to separate them because there are at least 20-25 separate established plants π±
See the one that's different than the others? I circled it in the pic. Its leaves are darker, and more slender/pointed. Idk what's going on there, all the babies came off a single parent plant. Maybe someone can explain how that random red-headed stepchild ended up with the others lol π

@stephonicle oh wow! π€― look at all of those.. no wonder why they mother of a thousand! I love the random redhead π©π»βπ¦° stepchild! Everyoneβs gotta have a rando to make them go wtf at some point, right ?? π€£
@Idplantthat yessssss!!!!
@Idplantthat I know right?! And check this out...Lavender Scallops also grow pups along the leaf margins! π³ I always assumed they'd propagate via leaf like other succulents, with roots/pups growing from the cut end, so I was shocked to find them with babies. I had no idea mother of thousands weren't the only mother of thousands lol ππ
