10” pot without drainage

Hi Jenna, welcome to greg :) on your plant it says it has a pot with no drainage? I’d really recommend switching it to a pot that has holes in the bottom, otherwise it can lead to root rot and overwatering!

The leaves look like they’ve been overwatered, i’d suggest leave watering it for a week or two, you should cut off the heavily damaged leaves as well to promote healthy growth!
Your plant needs less water with pot that has drainage holes. Cornstalk Dracaena is semi succulent, means they don't need frequently watering, only water when the soil is almost completely dry out.
@LuxuryLionsmane Welcome to the Greg community! There are a few reasons why your plant is doing that: To prevent brown leaves on a dracaena plant, ensure consistent moisture by watering when the top inch of soil feels dry, maintain moderate to bright indirect light, increase humidity with a humidifier or pebble tray, avoid overwatering, check for pests regularly, and use filtered or distilled water to minimize mineral buildup in the soil. Check out this website it might help with more info: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/houseplants/dracaena/dracaena-leaves-are-brown.htm#:~:text=Flushing%20the%20soil%20to%20remove,also%20help%20prevent%20leaf%20damage. Happy Growing!
@LuxuryLionsmane Hi Jenna and welcome to Greg!!! I would like to suggest that you remove the stones from the top layer.
My Dracaena is doing it too!! I had it in a terrace cotta planter, it was flourishing. Switched to plastic and it started getting root rot. I also never really remembered to water my plants, started watering every Sunday ish and everything did great. The minute I started caring more and becoming obsessive with water schedules and amounts, it starts dying. I'd try reporting to terra cotta and watering less. Also check humidity levels with a hygrometer.
@LuxuryLionsmane i forget this tagging stuff.. agree with info above too!
If the plant card is correct, there's one big issue that needs addressed. Being in a pot with no drainage. Dracaena (and pretty much all plants) don't tolerate wet "feet" (roots). It needs a pot and soil with good drainage. Also, Dracaena don't care for tap water. Use filtered water if possible or leave tap water sitting out at least 24 hours so that most of the damaging chemicals in the water can naturally evaporate out of it.

That being said, I would take it out and repot it with a well draining soil (you can use regular potting soil and add some perlite. I also add orchid bark to my mix. Avoid MiracleGro soil) There may be some root rot so check them out. If they're black and mushy, they're rotten and need removed. Water when the soil is mostly dry. Keeping it too moist, especially in the winter, will cause root rot.

Hope this helps and Good Luck πŸ€
You will need drainage holes at the bottom of your pot or it could be way overwatered
@Lifeis2short I agree with everything, you said I have one! πŸ‘
Thank you everyone! I will get a new pot for her as soon as our roads are cleared and I'm no longer snowed in LOL Those are shells covering the top layer of soil because I have cats who like to dig around in my plants but putting a layer of shells or stones prevents that...plus they look pretty πŸ˜† But I will remove them and figure put something else to keep the cats out if they're causing damage. The yellowing was present before the shells. In regard to cutting off the brown, do I only cut the brown? Or the whole leaf?
Also, I'm on well water, not city, not sure if that's a good or bad thing for my plants πŸ˜…
Well water is much better than city water as it comes, usually, from natural underground springs. And you can remove just the brown parts or the whole leaf, it's completely up to you
Hello all. That term Dracaena is used in several different ways. One way is on my bamboo. I tried to put it in soil and lost stalks turning yellow. I have since made it hydroponic.
@Lifeis2short interesting answer I like the way you put it. Question: is MiracleGro potting soil any good?
@GreenPurpose I personally, and I'm not the only one on Greg who feels the same, don't like MiracleGro. I've tried the tropical mix, moisture control, indoor mix, cactus mix, you name it, and mostly because it's cheap. But you get what you pay for. Ask @BabeVila how she feels about MiracleGro. I'm not sure if some of the plants I lost early in my plant journey wasn't because of it.

And if you have a Lucky Bamboo, it is a Dracaena ☺️ Dracaena sanderiana to be exact
@Lifeis2short Lol I do actually like the Miracle Gro Indoor Potting Mix (in the gray bag)! It’s light and fluffy and has never given me trouble. But they were out of it one day and I bought the pink bag of Miracle Gro Tropical Mix and then every plant I put in it was dead or dying after only one watering! They all got root rot, it was devastating! I’m still mad about it! πŸ˜‚ @Lifeis2short thank you for spreading the word, I don’t want anyone to go through the loss I went through! Audrey also lost plants to the Tropical soil! It’s the devil. The gray bag of Indoor Potting mix is good thoughβ€”so far! πŸŒΏπŸ’š
