Does this plant prefer to trail?

My chalk stick is currently propped up but I’m wondering if she’d rather trail. What do you all do with yours? #HappyPlants

@badkitten13 I recently watched a few YouTube videos on what chalk sticks actually are supposed to do when growing….and they are meant to be bushy! One option, you can chop the top and prop right back into the pot for a fuller look. Something I am considering with mine but they are FAR SHORTER than yours!
@Amateurbotany interesting! Maybe I’ll try that. I got them at a farmers market as a single stalk last spring. It grew fast! After looking at some photos, mine does seem rather leggy πŸ€” thanks for the advice!
Chalk sticks, also known as Senecio vitalis or Narrow-Leaf Chalk Sticks, can grow both upright and trailing depending on how they are supported. If left to trail, they can create a cascading effect, which is often preferred for hanging pots or containers on ledges. If you prop them up, they will grow more upright and create a fuller look. It really depends on your personal aesthetic preference and the space you have available for the plant. Both options work well, and the plant will adapt to either style.
@Mommabear53 great! Thank you! I was afraid it might not like that but maybe I’ll give it a go!
@Gustavo Glad to hear that. I feared I was doing the wrong thing but it’s become so tall that I was afraid to let it trail and break. Perhaps I’ll do a combination since I have so many stalks.
