Should I chop and prop my new ZZ?

Hey everyone!

I just picked up this ZZ plant and she has huge roots and seems to be pretty big for her current pot. She was by far the biggest at the store and her fat roots have even misshapen the plastic pot she’s been living in! Should I leave her, split her up, or something else?

All help and advice appreciated, #NewPlantMom here πŸ˜… and any other general tips and tricks with ZZ plants would also be very much appreciated πŸ’šπŸŒ±

Dayum she’s so full and pretty I would leave her alone 😝 just give her a slightly bigger pot (bulges are the perfect sign when to repot Zz) they have huge chunky roots! If you want two plants then I would split her up when you repot, it’s probably going to be much faster at growing than cuttings already having a good root system and all. Looking forward updates, she’s beautiful
Also slightly terrified by the mould at the bottom of her pot so I would love to get her out safely & ASAP!
I’d split her up if you can but as to the mold I have no idea
It looks more like a mineral build up of some sort, outside of the pot... possibly from bottom watering? Idk Could be from other plants or soil, who knows. Anyway my speculations are just to say, don’t worry too much about the outside, it’s the inside that counts lol
@Harat9 yeah not too worried about the outside hahah, would you chop and prop or split her up?
@alexschildren @HoyaAddict gave you great advice. Jasmine is wonderful.
@KikiGoldblatt Aww you’re too sweet ☺️
@HoyaAddict well it’s the truth. Your amazing. πŸ₯°πŸ₯°
@HoyaAddict thank you for this advice!! I am going to give her a week or 2 to let her settle into her new environment before I repot her in a slightly larger pot. Thanks again 😊
@alexschildren perfect! She will love you for the rest and the new home! 🌱❀️
