Leaf discolouration

Does anyone use a grow light with their rose calathea and noticed something like this? At the moment, my other calatheas (pinstripe calathea and calathea vittata)seem to be ok with the same grow light. #CalatheaCrew #GrowLights
8ft to light, indirect
4โ€ pot with drainage

Hi ๐Ÿ‘‹ @FamedYuzu84 It may not be the grow light. Could be too much water. Check soil. With days getting shorter it may not need as much ๐Ÿ’ฆ You may want to check the roots to make sure that root rot hasnโ€™t set in. Calatheas are such drama queens I hate to disturb them needlessly but in this case you may want to.
Hi @FamedYuzu84 ๐Ÿ˜Š Different calatheas do tolerate different amounts of light. And I see that the pinstripe have very vibrant pink stripes, so it tells me your plant-light isn't very bright. (As the pinstripe will get whiter stripes in more light, and when it is pink and thriving it is just on the edge of being light-stressed).

It might be just perfekt for the pinstripe and vittata but a little too little for the Dottie. The Dottie also looks to be a little further from the light.
Although the Dottie do grow into their colors a little, the leaves are usually a little green when fresh.
It might also revert to the green version (jungle rose), but I don't think that is whats happening here as it still has a little pink.

So my first guess is the light as you say, but as stated they could react to a number of things. Do you fertilize for instance? I have had color changes on my calatheas both with too little/much light and with too little/wrong fertilizer.

Transplant shock might also cause this. Too low humidity in the air. Or reaction to something in your water? Do you use tap-water?
