Spots on Rose-Painted Calathea Meaning?
Iβve had this calathea for nearly a month now. I recently noticed (~2 weeks ago) new these new spots. This is my first calathea, and Iβve heard people mention they can die easily. Should I be concerned? Does anyone know the potential causes? #Calathea #WHY

The first picture just looks like it was mechanically damaged. The second and third pictures I am more wary of. I noticed that in your plant's profile you indicate thar it lacks drainage. While calathea love humidity they do not like to be waterlogged. This can lead to fungal and bacterial root rot which could account for the browning and mushy appearance especially in Pic 3. Calathea are finicky so be careful but I think that you should probably examine the roots. They should be cream colored and firm. If any are brown and mushy, cut off the necrotic tissue as well as the affected leaves. Get it into a well draining soil and pot with drainage.
@phytologyfan Thanks for the response! I checked her roots, and they all look healthy. But sheβs still getting more spots and her smaller leaves are drooping. Could there be any other reason? (Sorry for bad English, by the way)
