Pink Lady Apple tree lost it’s leaves

I noticed today she’s just about bald. We’ve had a lot of rain, humidity & sun this past week in TX. Touched the soil down to my 3rd knuckle and it was a little dry but not bad enough to cause fallen leaves. Put a little vitamin water in this past Sunday as well. I’m new to the fruit & citrus tree game. What am I and what did I do wrong here? How can I help her? Can I help her?

Plant them in the ground and they be happy! πŸ˜ƒ
@CourtlyKingfern We’re wanting her to remain a smaller producing dwarfish tree. Not a big one. Still has to be planted in the ground?
It's best to plant them in the ground and keep them pruned to keep them manageable.

If you want them to be in pots, you should pot them in REALLY BIG pots to give their roots enough room and allow the soil to stay moist longer.

... but- do you have deer? It's hard to see in the picture, but it reminds me of my plants after deer have come through my yard.
@sarahsalith Yeah, we have deer but the backyard is fenced in. Rabbits come through. You think it may be a rabbit?
I just got the plant in April. Isn’t still too young to plant in the ground?
