Hi all! Can anyone tell me what’s wrong with my black vel...

3ft to light, direct
6” pot with drainage
Last watered 1 month ago
When a plant starts losing leaves, my first thought is usually root rot. It depends on what the stem, roots, and the rest of the plant look like. My best advice is to carefully remove the plant from its pot and check the roots. If they’re brown and mushy, that’s a sign of root rotβ€”but don’t worry, your plant can recover! Just trim away the dead tissue. If the roots seem healthy, the problem might be something else, like pests or a fungal infection. It’s hard to know for sure. Take a look at the roots and let us know what you find! It does look like a gorgeous plant, hope it gets well soon πŸͺ΄πŸ’š
Do the dying leaves feel wet or crispy?
You guys are amazing! The dying leaves feel more wet than crispy. The two tentacle looking things hanging from the middle- 1 is dry and crispy and 1 is healthy. I don’t know what I was thinking expanding my horizons and getting plants outside of Snake plants. I was hoping the app would help keep me on track but I still don’t water properly I guess ha
@RalphiesGarden yes! I think I need to repot quite a few of my plants. Thank you so much! I’ll keep you guys updated.
@NiftyGuanacaste, you shouldn't rely on the app. It's mostly a learning tracker rather than an actual tracker. It adjusts its watering schedule based on how often you hit β€œsnooze” or β€œwater.” The more times you hit β€œsnooze,” the less frequently the app will recommend watering your plant. The more times you hit β€œwater”, the more often the app recommends watering. The best thing to do is always wait until your plant’s soil is completely dry before watering and then tracking that in the app. If you do this enough times the app will eventually give you a more accurate schedule for your plant.
