Hi there! It appears that this bloom is simply spent, which is totally normal as long as it’s been on your plant for a couple weeks.
@TopBlackbamboo Hi Nancy, welcome to Greg. I see that you populated your plant profile β€”that enables anyone in the community to quickly access much of the necessary information to help diagnose the issue. I see that your peace lily receives direct sunlight. They are not suited to such direct light. It can scorch them. Peace lilies are native to the tropical rainforests of Central and South America. They are often found growing on the forest floor, where they receive dappled or filtered light. I note that there is brown necrotic tissue in both the spadix (bumpy protrusion) and the spathe (petal like structure). To me this could also point to other concurrent causes. Do the areas of necrotic tissue correspond to where the suns rays would hit it? Is the plant otherwise looking healthy? Is there an absence of odd lesions or markings elsewhere on the plant? Absence of pest infestation? It’s important to carefully examine the plant to see whether any concurrent issues are going on. If this were a disease, it would weaken the plant overall (eventually) and make it vulnerable to infestations. If you answered yes to all these questions, I would chalk it up to sun burn. Still continue to monitor the plant for about six weeks checking in regularly. If you answers no to these question, report back so we can refine a diagnosis. Lastly, you can put a sheer curtain up (or even bubble wrap in a pinch) so that the plant isn’t exposed to direct light. Hope this helpsb
