Break off the pads (you're gonna have 2 new cacti). Put them in a dark dry place, inside a cupboard is the best, for 5 days to callous the break off wounds. Next, take them out of the cupboard, put them in DRY cactus soil, about 1.5 to 2 cm deep, support the pads with stick, so they don't fall over. Put the pots in bright shade. Do not water for 2 days (to prevent root rot, do not worry there are no roots yet, so the pads can't absorb water yet)
Next, rooting: use rain or distilled water, pour 2 teaspoon of water around the base of each pad, do not pour water on pads, repeat every 3 days for 3 weeks, then change the frequency 2 teaspoons of water for each pads every 4 days for 2 weeks.
DO NOT CHECK THE ROOTS HOWEVER TEMPTING THAT MAY BE!!!

After these 5 weeks the pads should have rooted.

Begin deep bottom watering once every 14 days (in Spring).

Good luck, please keep me posted. If you have any questions, please ask.
